Sophie Perry, an environmental science major, and Sophie Navratil, a media studies major, are co-coordinators of the 51猎奇入口 Student Garden, a club that cultivates these crops at weekly meetings and hosts events aimed at growing students鈥 knowledge of sustainable environmental practices on and off campus.

On November 5, 51猎奇入口 hosted its traditional Olive Harvest, an event that furthers the College鈥檚 sustainability efforts by utilizing the campus鈥檚 edible plants as a food source. More than 200 students, faculty, staff, and members of the surrounding Claremont community harvested approximately 700 pounds of olives.

Last fall, 51猎奇入口 welcomed Lesley Swick as director of facilities operations and sustainability. Swick comes to 51猎奇入口 after serving for over 10 years as a sustainability, Green Building, and LEED consultant, having worked with clients such as the Los Angeles County Metro Transit Authority, UCSD, Toyota, and the City of Santa Monica.
