Alfredo Ramos Martinez, the βFather of the Mexican Mural Movement of the 20th Century,β is commissioned to create theΒ , βThe Flower Vendors.β The entire composition is sketched on the plaster wall, which is over 100 feet long, and begins work on several panels. He falls ill and passes away shortly after, on November 8, 1946, leaving the mural unfinished.
