Biography
Omar G. Ramirez is an artist, arts educator, and mentor with 25 years of experience working with communities of color. Born and raised in Los Angeles' Mexican and Chicanx communities, his work is inspired by the cultural practices and traditions of these communities. Omar鈥檚 artistic approach is rooted in Restorative Cultural Arts, using his experiences to address racial oppression and promote change. In addition to his mural work, he recently focused on photographing Chicanx and Latinx musicians and spaces, capturing the cultural narratives of these communities. Committed to creating opportunities for marginalized voices, Omar鈥檚 work challenges inequities and fosters transformation through public art, restorative justice, and community workshops.
