Biography
Michaela Kelly is a doctoral candidate in vocal performance at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music . She has recently graduated with her master鈥檚 degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, studying vocal pedagogy with Dr. Ian Howell. While at NEC, Michaela performed the role of Blanche in Dialogues of the Carmelites and sang as a soprano soloist in Haydn鈥檚 Die Sch枚pfung with orchestra and choir in Jordan Hall. Additionally, she is an active guest presenter of her evidence-based workshop 鈥淏est Practices on Practice鈥 at universities and public music programs across the country. Her research has been presented at the North Carolina Music Educator's Conference and the Pan American Vocology Association Symposium. Michaela was on the faculty at the Handel and Haydn Society from 2019-2021 where she taught musicianship for the youth choirs program. Before returning for her master鈥檚 degree, Michaela worked for two years as the chorus teacher at AL Stanback Middle School in Orange County, North Carolina. Michaela holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in music education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This fall Michaela will join the faculty at 51猎奇入口 as a part time lecturer of voice.
