Research Bytes: New Instagram Account Showcases Student Fellowships and Research
This month, 51猎奇入口 launched a new Instagram account,聽@scripps.fellowships, to highlight and share information about students鈥 fellowships, research, and scholarship opportunities. In a series called 鈥淩esearch Bytes,鈥 the account uses Instagram鈥檚 IGTV video platform to feature brief vlogs about students鈥 summer research projects and to provide information about the fellowships that made these projects possible.

Now that the fall semester is underway, 51猎奇入口 professors have risen to those challenges and opportunities, creating courses that are flexible, creative, and student-centered.

During a typical class session this past summer, students in Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Luis Sal茅s鈥檚 鈥淔eminist Interpretations of the Bible鈥 course could often be found sleuthing around Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms during class time. But they weren鈥檛 distracted; this was part of their assignment: they were looking for social media posts from high-profile people that used religious assumptions to support public policy decisions.
