In a MarketWatch op-ed, Professor of Economics Roberto Pedace examines a possible reason for demographic disparities in Hollywood films: studios鈥 concerns about international revenues. According to Pedace鈥檚 research, 鈥渁dding just one nonwhite lead actor led to a 40% decrease in international revenue,鈥 an effect that disappears in the domestic film market.
