In the Media: State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson ’71 Advocates for Bill to Examine Tax Breaks, Los Angeles Times Reports

The Los Angeles Times reported that California State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson ’71 is sponsoring a bill, SB 956, to assess tax expenditures鈥攃ommonly known as “loopholes”鈥攖hat are costly to the state treasury. If passed, the bill would authorize an economic research team to examine tax credits, exemptions, and exclusions to determine whether the expenditures are beneficial to the state.

Victoria (Tori) Smith remembers when she first came to 51猎奇入口: It was a campus tour in the spring of 2016, and she recalls being irrevocably drawn to the diversity of thought and style of 51猎奇入口 students and to the unparalleled beauty of campus. 鈥淧art of the tour included a visit to Graffiti Wall, and I remember thinking, 鈥榃ouldn鈥檛 it be amazing if I could paint my class鈥檚 mural鈥攊f I could be a part of making 51猎奇入口 history?鈥欌

Camille Frazier ’09 Wins Clarkson University’s Outstanding New Teacher Award

Camille Frazier ’09 received the 2020 Outstanding New Teacher Award from Clarkson University, where she joined the faculty as an assistant professor of anthropology in 2018. The award recognizes excellence in curricular development, student engagement, and classroom creativity within a faculty member’s first four years at the university.

The Back Story: Gallery Interns Offer New Perspective on Great Depression

Student interns at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery wear many hats. During their 2019鈥20 internships, Ludwig intern Annabel Lind 鈥22 and Turk intern Miriam Bankier 鈥20 helped organize the sprawling archives of the gallery鈥檚 permanent collection, assisted with the College鈥檚 76th Ceramic Annual (the longest running ceramics show in the country), and curated their own exhibition from the collection.
