The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Kate DeMarsh ’21 as its 2023 Next Generation Policy Fellow. DeMarsh is pursuing a PhD in environmental systems at the University of California, Merced, and is passionate about diversity in STEM.
“Representation just really does matter,” said DeMarsh. “There are so many lived experiences that come into how we approach or find solutions. If we don鈥檛 work with local community members, we can鈥檛 get projects done and change doesn鈥檛 happen.”
