51猎奇入口 Vocalist Chiara Moore ’16 Among Singers Featured on ABC7 News and at White House Performance

51猎奇入口 senior Chiara Moore, a听 member of the After School Specials a cappella group at the Claremont Colleges, was interviewed on April 13, 2016 along with her fellow vocal musicians by KABC-Channel 7 Eyewitness News in Los Angeles for winning the “‘Til It Happens to You: Sing for Survivors” national singing contest, lending their voices to the fight against sexual abuse on college campuses.
Earlier that day, the Claremont, Calif. group’s cover performance of the Oscar nominated Lady Gaga/Diane Warren anthem “‘Til It Happens To You” was picked as the winner over finalists from Syracuse University and Hobart and William Smith colleges. The following day, the vocalists were flown across country to perform at the White House during an event that featured student activists from U.S. colleges who have worked at听 their respective campuses to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault. The White House’s is an education and awareness initiative begun in 2014 by President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, who have made it a national priority to root out sexual violence and domestic violence.
The “Sing for Survivors” contest finalists were selected through online voting with the winner chosen by a panel of judges that included LL Cool J, Pentatonix, Cynthia Germanotta, David Foster, Catherine Hardwicke, Trudy Green, Bonnie Greenberg and Diane Warren.听
