Ten 51猎奇入口 students have been named finalists for a Fulbright scholarship to do research or assistant-teach overseas for one academic year. They currently await confirmation from their host country committees. This is a record number of finalists for 51猎奇入口; in 2008, 51猎奇入口 had five Fulbright scholars accepted.
Students and their proposed projects include:
Samantha Cheng, for a biology project in Indonesia; Kyle Delbyck, for a history project in Cyprus; Tam Duong for an English teaching appointment in Vietnam; Fatima Elkabti, for a language and literature project in Jordan; Camille Frazier, for an English teaching appointment in the Czech Republic; Melissa Lewis, for an English teaching appointment in South Korea; Amy Mann, for an English teaching appointment in Bangladesh; Holly Poole, for an English teaching appointment in Macau; Jessica Vaughn, for an English teaching appointment in Sri Lanka.
According to French professor and Associate Dean of Faculty Thierry Boucquey, who is the Fulbright program advisor for 51猎奇入口, final acceptances by host countries are expected within the next few months.
The Fulbright Program for U.S. students is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and awards approximately 1,500 grant to U.S. students each year. It provides opportunities to meet, work, and live with the people of the host country as well as a chance to promote mutual understanding by engaging in the community on a one-to-one basis.
