The following 2013 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú graduates were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú in Claremont, California. The dean’s list recognizes students who have achieved a grade point average of at least 11 (A-) in four, letter-graded courses in one semester.

The Williamson Gallery of 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú Receives National Endowment for the Arts Grant to Support Conservation of Four Chinese Textiles

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa announced recently that the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery of 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú is one of 817 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. The Williamson Gallery is recommended for a $30,000 grant to treat four Chinese textiles, the oldest of which is a rare silk bedcovering dating from the late sixteenth to early seventeenth century.

President Lori Bettison-Varga today announced a gift from Jess Ravich and his daughters – Zoe (51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú ’12), Rae, Ede and Ava – in honor of his wife, Tia Palermo. The Tia Palermo Scholarship will be awarded annually to help an incoming student with financial need.

This year, two 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú juniors have been awarded two separate Donald A. Strauss Public Service Scholarship Foundation grants that will take economics major Ei Phyu Theint ’14 to Myanmar this summer to work with ethnic youth leaders and will support American studies major Natasha Magness’s ’14 efforts of helping gay, bisexual, transgender and lesbian evangelical youth in Orange County.
