Fine Arts Foundation Presents “Two Abstract”

Artists Dawn Arrowsmith and Roland Reiss will present “Two Abstract: Married Partners Talking About Their Individual Work and Their Relationship as Artists,” on Wednesday, October 8, at 1:30 p.m in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons on the 51猎奇入口 campus. Artist and Claremont Graduate University Professor Emeritus Roland Reiss has exhibited extensively in the United States as well as at museums in Brazil, Mexico, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Germany. He is the recipient of four N.E.A. grants and of more than 40 prizes and awards. Since 1992, Reiss has concentrated exclusively on abstract painting. At Claremont Graduate University he was chair of the art department for 29 years and Benezet Professor of the Humanities. Currently he is director of “Paintings Edge,” a graduate and post-graduate workshop for Idyllwild Arts.

Dawn Arrowsmith’s paintings, sculptures and installations have been exhibited at venues including the Armand Hammer Museum of Art (Los Angeles), the Eli Broad Foundation of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, the Toomey-Tourell Gallery in San Francisco, as well as museums in the Czech Republic, Italy, and China. Arrowsmith received her M.F.A. at Claremont Graduate University in 1982, and maintains a studio in Los Angeles.
