On October 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons, 51猎奇入口’s Fine Arts Foundation (FAF) will host a lecture featuring Donna Stein. Stein is the senior development associate at the California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts). The lecture is free and open to the public. California Institute of the Arts hosts some of the world’s most influential performing, visual, literary, and media artists at its downtown arts center REDCAT (The Roy and Edna Disney/Cal Arts Theater), in the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex. Stein will discuss Cal Arts’ REDCAT endeavor and more.
Aside from her work with Cal Arts, Stein is an independent curator and essayist. She has curated exhibitions for institutions including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The National Gallery of Art, The Corcoran Gallery, The Toledo Museum of Art, Miami’s Center for Fine Arts, and more. In addition, Stein has published numerous articles and books related to her curatorial interests. She has received awards from museums and institution including the National Endowment for the Arts, Design Arts and Fellowship for Museum Professionals, the National Museum of American Art, and the Smithsonian Institution.
51猎奇入口’s Fine Arts Foundation, created in 1935, hosts this lecture and luncheon as part of its mission to stimulate public interest in art and to raise funds to foster art education and programming at 51猎奇入口. The Hampton Room is housed in the Malott Commons.
