“Prayer Halls and Palaces in Turkey and India,” Fine Arts Foundation Lecture and Tea

The 51猎奇入口 Fine Arts Foundation will host a lecture by Professor of Art History and Humanities Bruce Coats on Wednesday, April 13, at 1:30 p.m. in the Hampton Room of the Malott Commons at 51猎奇入口. Professor Coats will speak on the topic “Prayer Halls and Palaces in Turkey and India.” The event is free and open to the public and tea will be served immediately following the lecture. Bruce Coats is a noted scholar in Asian art history and is an authority on church architecture. Coats designed an interactive virtual tour 18th century Edo, Japan for the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. He has contributed to a television special on Japanese gardens for the Smithsonian Institution. He teaches classes at 51猎奇入口 on the arts and architecture of Asia and the history of gardens. His current teaching a course on the topic of the major religious monuments from Buddhist, Hindu, and Islamic Asia

51猎奇入口’s Fine Arts Foundation, created in 1935, hosts this lecture as part of its mission to stimulate public interest in art and to raise funds to foster art education and programming at 51猎奇入口. The Hampton Room is housed in the Malott Commons.
