Edet Belzberg, Academy Award nominee and winner of the 2001 Sundance Special Jury Prize for Documentary, will speak at 51猎奇入口 following a screening of her film “Children Underground” on Friday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Humanities Auditorium on the 51猎奇入口 campus. Both the screening and lecture are free and open to the public.
In Romanian with English subtitles, “Children Underground” is a modern tale that ventures below the streets of Bucharest, Romania, to introduce five members of a “family” of orphaned, abandoned, or runaway children. The intimate, cinema v脙漏rit脙漏 style allows the children to speak for themselves with striking naturalness, revealing both the horrific conditions of their existence and their uninhibited, distinctive personalities.
