The Claremont Colleges Intercollegiate Department of Africana Studies Presents Lecture on “Transnational Black Diaspora Feminisms”

Tracy Fisher, assistant professor of women’s studies at the University of California, Riverside, lectures on “Transnational Black Diaspora Feminisms” at 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 13 in room 103 of聽 Steele Hall, 241 E. 11th St., 51猎奇入口. This event is free and open to the public.

Specializing in race and feminism and African diaspora studies, Fisher is the author of “What’s Left of Blackness: Feminisms, Transracial Solidarities, and the Politics of Belonging in Britain” (Palgrave Macmillan: 2012) and co-editor of “Gendered Citizenships: Transnational Perspectives on Knowledge Production, Political Activism, and Culture” (Palgrave Macmillan: 2009).

Fisher received her doctorate degree in anthropology from the City University of New York. She has taught at Wayne State University, the University of Greenwich in London and John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
