“Apophasis,” the 51猎奇入口 Senior Art Exhibition, will be on view April 27 through May 13 at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery. The senior art exhibition is an annual juried show displaying final projects by selected senior art majors.
A reception will be held Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in the Bixby Courtyard adjacent to the Williamson Gallery. The 51猎奇入口 Fine Arts Foundation will present awards to the artists at 8 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
The exhibiting artists from the class of 2007 use their works to explore a shared interest in the exchange of ideas. They are: Zemula Barr, Rori Greene, Laura Guaglianone, Melanie Henneberg, Sarah Holden, Kristin Knaebel, Lauren A. Ross, Mollie A. Royer, Julia Sabot, and Maggie Tokuda-Hall.
“We each deconstruct common conceptions of identifying women, the limitations of representing subjects through standard art practices, and the limitations of language-visual and phonetic- for expressing truths,” says Laura Guaglianone.
