On the eve of the 2018 Academy Awards, Roberto Pedace, professor of economics at 51猎奇入口, spoke on NPR’s 1A on diversity in film and what changes in representation mean for Hollywood’s bottom line. Pedace’s research explores how racially biased international markets may be responsible for the lack of female and non-white lead characters in films produced in the U.S.
