Gabby Giffords ’93 praised California’s new tax on gun manufacturers, which Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law on September 26, the San Fernando Valley Sun . The Gun Violence Prevention and School Safety Act taxes the gun industry to create a permanent funding source for school safety programs and other gun violence prevention initiatives.
