Artist, designer, and collector Howard Smith will be spotlighted at the Palm Springs Art Museum in a new May exhibit. Smith taught at 51猎奇入口 for eight years and made his mark on the art world with his signature 鈥渓ess is more鈥� Finnish design aesthetic.听听
鈥淭he Art and Design of Howard Smith鈥� exhibit, spearheaded by the Palm Springs Art Museum Executive Director Adam Lerner will open May 10 and feature 220 objects, including sculptures, textiles, ceramics, and collages.听听
“He was a pioneer in merging art and design, and his story is a fascinating blend of cultural exchange, personal transformation and innovation,” Lerner told the Desert Sun. “Howard Smith was a household name in Finland for some of his works, but he didn’t have a gallery, and he didn’t have a lot of records for his art.鈥澨�听
