By Anyi Wong-Lifton ’18

51猎奇入口 in Residence is a two-day event that gives 51猎奇入口 students the opportunity to meet accomplished alumnae and parents from diverse professional fields. On October 26 and 27, Caroline Gibney ’85, Linda Randlett Kollar ’66, Bruce Felt, father of 51猎奇入口 student Kimberly Felt ’17, and Cheryl Holland, mother of Hannah Quackenbush ’18, shared stories from their unique and successful career journeys through talks, one-on-one meetings with students, and in the group panel, “Dreams, Ambition, Reality.”

Gibney, a studio art major at 51猎奇入口 and now a founding partner and executive producer at the award-winning production company Station Film, spoke to students interested in pursuing careers in film and media. She has produced Skype’s “Stay Together” commercials and Progressive Insurance’s popular campaign starring Flo the Saleswoman.

Kollar, a partner at Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, PC, answered questions about careers in law. An American studies major at 51猎奇入口, Kollar now specializes in the representation of behavior health care providers in California, representing nonprofit community care facilities that provide residential treatment and foster care for children.

An MBA graduate from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, Felt has more than 25 years of experience as a chief financial officer for various tech companies and start ups in Silicon Valley. He is currently the CFO of Domo, a cloud-based business management platform company, and he shared advice on succeeding in Silicon Valley.

Holland, president and founder of Abacus Planning Group, Inc., a financial advisory and investment counsel firm in Columbia, South Carolina, Cheryl R. Holland spoke on women in power and the importance of listening, collaboration, and creativity in the workplace. Holland has focused on those qualities at her own company, and notable organizations frequently recognize her on their top advisor lists.
