After much consideration and discussion, we have suspended CMS spring athletic competitions effective March 15.聽I commend the SCIAC and the NCAA for making the difficult decision to cancel the remaining championships.
We fully recognize and appreciate the time, energy, and passion our scholar-leader-athletes contribute to their teams and respective sports. Nothing, however, is more important than the health and wellness of our student-athletes, our community, and our country.
Our student-athletes have handled this news with grace and perspective. They have demonstrated excellent leadership in this challenging time.
CMS will suspend all other planned activities effective 6 p.m. on Friday, March 13. This includes all Intramural Sports, 5C Club Sports,聽recreational classes, and in-person Physical Education classes.聽Physical Education faculty and instructors will reach out to students with updates on their adjusted course plans.
In addition to the suspension of all programming,聽ALL聽Athletic and Recreational facilities鈥攊ncluding Roberts Pavilion and Axelrood Pool鈥攚ill be closed beginning Friday, March 13聽at 6 p.m.
