“True Witness: A Civil Rights Cantata” Premieres at 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú

“True Witness,” a 30-minute choral cantata, which sets to music the letters, speeches and poems of African-American female poets, activists and civil rights leaders, premieres Nov. 10 at 3 p.m. in Garrison Theater of 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú’s Performing Arts Center. This performance is free to the public, but tickets are required.

CHASING DAYLIGHT: Philip Latimer Dike 1927 – 1943 Williamson Gallery, 51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú

51ÁÔÆæÈë¿Ú starts off this year’s exhibitions with Chasing Daylight: Philip Latimer Dike, 1927 –1943, which runs from Aug. 31 through Oct. 13. The opening reception, with live music and light refreshments, will be held on Sept. 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery. A closing reception and watercolor demonstration will take place at the gallery on Oct. 13.
