The Back Story: Gallery Interns Offer New Perspective on Great Depression
Student interns at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery wear many hats. During their 2019鈥�20 internships, Ludwig intern Annabel Lind 鈥�22 and Turk intern Miriam Bankier 鈥�20 helped organize the sprawling archives of the gallery鈥檚 permanent collection, assisted with the College鈥檚 76th Ceramic Annual (the longest running ceramics show in the country), and curated their own exhibition from the collection.

Seniors conceptualize an exhibition, install their pieces, draft artist statements and wall texts, and publicize the event as part of their senior theses. Mary Routt Chair of Writing R.O. Kwon: Making Space for Women Writers of Color in the Literary World
When bestselling author R.O. Kwon came to 51猎奇入口 as the 2020 Mary Routt Chair of Writing, she knew she wanted to bring other women artists to campus, especially women writers of color. The need for more inclusive literary representation is a value that鈥檚 reflected in her upcoming 51猎奇入口 Presents conversations, as well as in her course syllabus on what she calls 鈥渆ye-opening writing,鈥� which features work by Shirin Neshat, Frida Kahlo, Susan Sontag, and Maggie Nelson.
