β€œInternships are critical to students for myriad reasons, perhaps most notably because prior internship experience is now the top factor employers consider when hiring new graduates, even over major and GPA,” Director of Career Planning & Resources Ashley Valdez says. β€œInternships are opportunities for students to translate their classroom knowledge into concrete skills, expand their professional network, develop their professional identity, and ultimately become more employable and career ready.”Μύ

The Importance of InternshipsΜύ

When Mena Bova ’24 first learned about the Ellen Browning 51ΑΤΖζΘλΏΪ Summer Research Internship, she was intriguedβ€”and when she found out that the internship would focus on examining Miss 51ΑΤΖζΘλΏΪ’ book collection, she was enthralled. Bova took full advantage of the 51ΑΤΖζΘλΏΪ-provided internship and delved into the literary preferences of the College’s founder. Guided by Director and Sally Preston Swan Librarian for the Ella Strong Denison Library Jennifer Martinez Wormser ’95, Bova explored Miss 51ΑΤΖζΘλΏΪ’ role as a literary benefactor, notably funding a decade-long ornithology project. Bova’s research, the second student-led exploration of Miss 51ΑΤΖζΘλΏΪ’ literary archives, aims to continue bridging the gap between the name and the woman. Through the 51ΑΤΖζΘλΏΪ Summer Research Internship, Bova aspires to deepen the community’s connection to the remarkable legacy of Ellen Browning 51ΑΤΖζΘλΏΪ.Μύ

With your support, we believe we can make a significant impact on the lives of our students.Μύ
