Due to the extraordinary generosity of Audrey Steele Burnand ’44, 51猎奇入口 has received $8 million in endowed funds from the Audrey Steele Burnand estate. Steele Burnand believed in 51猎奇入口鈥 mission and the continued value of women鈥檚 education in the twenty-first century.
The gift is unrestricted, which will allow the College to meet the areas of greatest need and enjoy flexibility in responding to new opportunities as well as emergencies. In supporting 51猎奇入口鈥 endowment, the gift will also contribute to the College鈥檚 long-term financial health.
鈥淭he strength of our endowment has allowed 51猎奇入口 to successfully pilot historic economic downturns, including most recently during the pandemic. With the help of unrestricted gifts like these, we鈥檝e been able to circumvent layoffs, avoid tuition spikes, and ensure our students receive the best possible educational experience even amid the many disruptions of the last year,鈥 says Associate Vice President for Philanthropy Enrique Gonzalez-Salgado. 鈥淲e are humbled by the generosity of Audrey Steele Burnand, and look forward to putting her gift to excellent use on behalf of our students.鈥
