Alumnae of a certain era may recall that Margret “Peg” Hart ’49 and her husband, David, were active ambassadors for 51猎奇入口. The Santa Barbara couple hosted regional events, provided significant financial support, and shared their goodwill with numerous alumnae, faculty, presidents, and trustees over the years.

Although David and Peg passed away in 2015 and 2016, respectively, the community continues to feel the impact of their giving. True to their generous nature, the couple included 51猎奇入口 in their estate plan, which has provided $1.2M to support the College’s most significant priorities. At the Harts’ direction, a portion of this gift completes the funding for the Molly Mason Jones Endowed Chair in Psychology.

This past spring, President Lara Tiedens announced that the remainder of the gift will support need-based scholarships, which helps the College enhance its financial aid offerings to current and incoming students and relieve some of the burden of debt some students experience.

“This generous bequest from Peg and David Hart strengthens our ability to provide a 51猎奇入口 education to students from a range of financial backgrounds. Supporting students who can’t afford a 51猎奇入口 education is core to our values of academic excellence and diversity and is of greatest importance to our College,” says President Tiedens. “We aspire to improve financial support for our students, and the Hart gift is a significant boost toward that goal. All of us at 51猎奇入口 are immensely grateful.”
