A Call for Action to Support Undocumented Members of the 51猎奇入口 Community

In a statement to the community this week, President Tiedens speaks to the concerns surrounding immigration in the United States:

The President of the United States repealed the Presidential directive that established the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. This decision has dire implications for thousands of students at colleges and universities throughout this nation who have sacrificed, persevered, and excelled to enhance the intellectual community on our campuses and to create a better future for themselves and their families. On our own campus, there are individuals for whom this action will result in fear and worry about their own safety as well as that of families and friends.

The 51猎奇入口 community is reaching out for support. Last semester, the College created an Immigration and Civil Rights Emergency Fund to support our students and families. Individuals confronting immigration-related or civil rights issues may seek funding for legal advice, representation, and DACA permit renewals.

We encourage alumnae, families, and friends to get involved by giving their resources and time to a cause that is impacting students, staff, faculty, and other community members. The College has a list of to connect you to the 51猎奇入口 community. Contact Scott Busiel, associate director for advancement communications, if you or others are interested in 聽supporting the community.
