Findings from Professor Cheng鈥檚 2020 research article, 鈥淟andscapes of Beauty and Plunder: Japanese American Flower Growers and an Elite Public Garden in Los Angeles鈥� (EPD: Society and Space), were highlighted this spring as the cover story of聽Descanso聽magazine. She is actively working with Descanso Gardens staff and leadership as well as descendants of the flower grower families to revise Descanso Gardens鈥� historical narrative and garden labels.

Her聽contributions as a member of the Los Angeles Mayor鈥檚 Office Civic Memory Group were published as part of the聽聽and report, 鈥淧ast Due: Report and Recommendations of the Los Angeles Mayor鈥檚 Office Civic Memory Working Group,鈥澛燗pril 2021.
