Professor Branfman curated and performed the following works:
- βShakti Rising,β a series of choreographed workshops and storytelling sessions with formerly incarcerated women negotiating reentry, Sacramento, CA, May 2019;
- βEmbodied Landscapes,β a full-length evening of two readapted works, βJanieβ and βAngeeβs Journeyβ centered on human landscapes that surround the prison industrial complex, at Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives, Berkeley, CA, June 2019.
She completed the following artist residencies:
- Directed an eight-week session of dancing and choreographing inside the menβs medium-security prison California Rehabilitation Center, Norco, California, June β July 2019;
- Served as choreographic advisor for an upcoming show with Phoenix Players Theatre Group a renowned incarcerated theatre company inside Auburn State Penitentiary, the oldest New York state menβs maximum-security prison, Auburn, New York, August 2019;
- Blue Front House artist creative residency, Bentonia, MS, July β Aug. 2019;
- Orleans Parish Prison dance residency including workshops and conversations with incarcerated women inside the Orleans County jail, New Orleans, LA, August 2019.
