Co-hosted Gabrielino-Shoshone tribal council spiritual elder Javier Ramirez as an O鈥橞rien Distinguished Visiting Professor in Native American/Indigenous Studies February 12-16 with Prof. Claudia Arteaga.聽 Ramirez visited several NAIS classes at 51猎奇入口 and Pomona, met with 51猎奇入口 CIDE, Joshua Thunder Little (Associate Director, Native American Initiatives at Pomona), and informally with other TCC students, faculty and staff;聽presented a public lecture, “鈥淚ndigeneity and Intercultural Experiences in the Abya Yala.鈥

 

Spring 2024

Initiator and co-leader, workshop at The Rick and Susan Sontag Center for Collaborative Creativity (HIVE), “Making Music from Nature,” on how to produce soundscapes from field recordings of environmental sounds (biophony, geophony, and anthropophony) made at the Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station.
