Professor Leconte and his research group published the article:
- “Mutant polymerases capable of 2β fluoro-modified nucleic acid synthesis and amplification with improved accuracyβ inΒ Royal Society of Chemistry – Chemical Biology. Β This work was executed and co-authored in its entirety by four Keck Science Department undergraduates: Trevor Christensen (CMCΒ β22), Kristi Lee (SCRΒ β20), Simone Gottlieb (SCRΒ β21) and Mikayla Carrier (SCRΒ β21). Β In the work, they describe new methods for making the synthesis of unnatural forms of DNA more accurate. Β This work has implications for the use of unnatural DNA in medicine and disease diagnostics.
