Dear 51猎奇入口 students,
In response to inquiries about the upcoming Sustained Dialogues Campus Network (SDCN) workshop, we are extending the deadline to Tuesday, April 14 at 11:59 PM. Please see information below. We look forward to your participation on Friday and Saturday!
Last semester we launched the IDEA Initiative with an interactive 2-day workshop for students interested in developing their leadership skills and navigating challenging conversations around important issues. I am excited to announce that Sustained Dialogues Campus Network (SDCN) will return to campus this spring to facilitate another workshop for students.
SDCN will lead a 2-day inclusivity leadership training workshop on Friday, April 17 from 6-9 and on Saturday, April 18 from 8-5 in Vita Nova 100 for students interested in acquiring tools to facilitate community-building conversations. Participants who have completed the training will then be eligible to apply for paid moderator positions in the fall and lead dialogue groups.
Rachel Berner-Hays, a participant in the fall workshop and current moderator, notes, “We seem to shy away from these topics because they are difficult but it is essential that we take the risk and time to talk, share and listen to our peers in order to create a safer, happier 51猎奇入口 community.” On applying her skills to actionable change, moderator Shanisha Coram states, “I know that things cannot stay the way they are now, and芒鈧 believe that we the students also have to do our part to make sure that 51猎奇入口 as an institution and we as a community are held accountable for our shortcomings and find our own solutions.”
Below you will find the online registration form for the workshop. We will be having an information session on Friday, April 10 from 12-1 pm in Seal Court for those interested in learning more. Please contact Sara Bryk, Shanisha Coram, Ella Shahn, or Rachel Berner-Hays for more information.
