Hi! My name is Abigail, and I am a sophomore here at 51猎奇入口. As a Writing and Rhetoric major, and just someone who loves to write and takes tons of creative writing classes, I thought I would let you know about some of the opportunities you have to be involved in student publications! I am going to separate it into two parts: journalism and literary magazines.
There are two student newspapers that you can write for. The Student Life (TSL) is our 5C student newspaper. You can find their website here: They cover everything from news on campus to opinion pieces to reviews to sports. They are the oldest college newspaper in Southern California and have been around since 1889.
The 51猎奇入口 Voice (TSV) is our 51猎奇入口 specific newspaper. You can find their website here: They put out issues once every other week and also cover a variety of categories. It is super easy to write an article for the 51猎奇入口 Voice: just join their mailing list and show up to the meetings! However, they also have paid Editorial Board positions if you would like to get more involved.
Claremont Undercurrents () is also super cool. They report on 鈥渓abor, Palestine liberation, prison abolition, and other community organizing at and around the Claremont Colleges鈥 (from their website). If you want to get more involved in political organizing and journalism, this is an awesome organization.
The Agave Review is our 5C literary and art magazine. You can view the past issue here: If you write any poems or prose in classes or your free time, you can submit to Agave Review and get published! You can also join their staff when they are hiring. 飦
The 51猎奇入口 Journal is our 51猎奇入口 student-run literary and arts magazine, where you can also submit poetry and prose, fiction or nonfiction, and be published. There is also a prize for the best poetry and the best fiction and nonfiction pieces which is cool. They hold community events throughout the year as well, such as creative workshops and poetry readings.
