When I first started at 51猎奇入口, my #1 goal was to know all the resources at hand and make the most use out of my time here. In this search, I fell more in love with the college when I realized how much assistance and support there was on hand. To get an overview of the amazing resources here at 51猎奇入口, here is the breakdown of the main centers on campus:聽
- CP&R: The Career, Planning & Resources Center is my favorite place on campus. The staff are amazing and can help you with your resume, job applications, interview preparation, and general career counseling. They also offer semesterly Treks and cover local transportation, food and housing costs. Throughout the semester, they also bring alumni and other corporations to campus for students to continue to encourage networking on campus. (Located in Seal Court across from Malott)
- Writing Center: An incredible place for guidance when it comes to writing. You can walk in and a Writing Tutor can be there to help you at any stage of the writing process: setting up an outline, working on a rough draft, revising a paper, and more. They also have appointments that you can schedule in advance. (Located on 2nd level of Humanities Building)
- ARS: The Academic Resources & Services Center is also an awesome resource. If you need to set up accommodations for classes, look for tutoring, or even receive academic coaching on how to plan out for coursework, this is the spot! (Located on the right of Kimberly dorm)
- Tiernan Field House: The gym is a lovely and gorgeous (looks like it’s from a resort) space. They provide your usual gym equipment, but they also have a Wellness room just to take a study break and decompress. They also offer Fitness classes, such as pilates, yoga, mediation, and more. (Located across from the Department of Natural Sciences)聽
- SCORE: This is our affinity space on campus! The 51猎奇入口 Affinity Groups meet in the space, such as Caf茅 con Leche, 51猎奇入口 International Students, Watu Weusi, the Asian American Sponsor Program, the Asian American Sponsor Program, the Disability, Illness, and Difference Alliance, Family, Blend, Kehilah, and Quest Scholars Network. (Located across from Frankel/Routt dorms)聽
- CARE@51猎奇入口: More so an online resource, but a helpful tool here at 51猎奇入口, in which they provide assistance to the College community in navigating student concerns and supporting students as they advocate, develop, and sustain success in school-life balance. CARE@SCRIPPS is available to help problem solve, understand options, and connect students with the number of resources available at the College, The Claremont Colleges, and in the surrounding community.
There are also 5C Resources (Resources shared with 51猎奇入口 & the other 4 Claremont Colleges):聽
- MCAPS: The counseling center at the 5Cs. Students can schedule one-on-one therapy sessions, set up psychiatric services, and receive crisis care. More so, there are also group therapy sessions, such as the Neurodivergent support group, Grief Support, Fresh Start (for first-years specifically), and other communal support that meet weekly.聽 (On the first floor directly to the left of the entrance into the Tranquada Student Services Center, which is across the Library)聽
- SHS: Student Health Services is the healthcare service here at the 5Cs. Students receive shots, checkups, appointments, and any general services you would expect. (Room to the right across from MCAPS)
There are so many other resources at 51猎奇入口 & shared with the 5Cs, but it is so important to know what is available to you at hand. Not only are these great services to help, but are so important to make use of!
